It goes beyond "sin," however, to "how we view Christian behavior." My second-ever blog post, back in June 2004, talked about how the whole Matthew 25 "give drink, give eat, visit prisoners, comfort widows and orphans" directives sure don't rise high on the way most folks measure un-Christian behavior. Seems to be one standard for "insiders" and a whole different one for "outsiders. I pointed out that Matthew 25 gives a much different measure for what's "incompatible with Christian teaching..." - like hunger, hatred, violence...
A person on the Gay Christian Network has this quote on his profile: "homosexuality is not wrong, it's just not common." When I look at the number of people in the church who were or are gay, I realize that I'm in damn, damn good company...
